For Want of a Second Chance. (Part 1)

10:30pm.
That was what the digital clock on the dashboard showed. Two hours had passed and still these humans had come to no conclusion as to what step to take next. 

The Serpent stretched out its beautiful slender body and coiled up again. If it could yawn it would have done so gladly, it thought as it's forked tongue darted in and out of its mouth. 

There it lay on the headrest of the left backseat of a new Honda car. It had followed the female all day long just to prove a point to the Creator and any other entity that cared to listen; He was not the Deceiver after all. 

His mind returned to the very beginning  of life. The Garden of Eden where he had run into the evil being called Eve. If only he had known that before starting up a conversation with her. It hurt each time he recalled the events that led to his fall and also how mankind got it all twisted. In their Holy Book,, he had planned to usurp The Creator and got punished for it. And that he came to Eve at the garden as a Serpent. How untrue! 
He had been minding his business, inhaling and exhaling the freshness of Earth when he saw Eve at the foot of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil with a fruit already in her hand. "Thou shalt not eat",,, he had warned. Then she smiled. He had never seen anything so charming,,, when she spoke it was music to his ears.
" Is it true that we will fall and die if we eat this ?" She had asked. 
"Not exactly,,, The Creator did not mean an immediate death". 
He had stupidly offered her more intelligence on the matter. It was never his plan for her to eat the fruit. He felt his explanation would make her understand why she was forbidden to do so. 

Before he was done explaining,,, she took a bite and ran off. Apparently, she had gone to share with Adam and The Creator came down. He headed straight to where they dwelt hoping to plead to The Creator on their behalf. Unfortunately the woman had lied that he was the one who deceived her into eating the fruit and The Creator believed. His new creation could not have been flawed. 

To begin to accuse The Creator of being unjust would be blasphemy so he had accepted getting dethroned and banished. He had also been transformed into a serpent and cursed.  But then he got tired. Centuries upon centuries of being called names, receiving blame for every mistake, lied about and shamed daily. He was done. The truth had to be told. 
"If only... ",  he would think.

Now he had succeeded in gaining a listening ear from The Creator and had even been offered an opportunity to return to Grace. 
"A life for a life". 
That was nature's demand for balance in the universe. For him to be redeemed, he had to get a worthy replacement for his position as Satan. Who better to use than a descendant of Eve? After all, they had all inherited her evil traits. 

Ever since, he had stalked them gathering proof with hope for redemption  and had compiled enough facts to prove his stance. This last one was going to seal the deal, he could feel it already. No more serpent form. He would be back in all his former glory. LUCIFER!!!
